Contracted Personnel for Works or Services
It is possible to hire research collaborators and/or research personnel under a research project, contract or agreement if there is credit available in the personnel chapter and always in accordance, if applicable, with the call for proposals, funding proposal or contract.
The principal investigator (PI) will prepare Annex I, adjusting to the conditions established in the call and/or regulatory bases of the project that will finance the hiring. In the absence of any specific condition, the Regulations for the hiring of research personnel and collaborating personnel in research tasks of the UVa will be applied.
Therefore, it is important to bear in mind the following:
- The category and the remuneration of the position to be called will be among those established by the agreement of the Research Committee on the hiring of research personnel and collaborating personnel that can be obtained in the previous link, unless the call and/or regulatory bases of the project that finances the hiring establish otherwise.
- In the case of a part-time contract, the remuneration shall be proportional to the number of hours.
- The expected start date of the contract will be at least thirty days after the date on which the principal investigator submits the call proposal.
- The expected end date of the contract shall never be later than the date on which the project, contract or agreement that finances the labor contract ends.
If you would like information on the total cost of the contract, compensation, etc., please contact the Research Service, where we will make the necessary calculations.
You will send it to the e-mail servicio.investigacion@uva.es of the Research Support Service, where the existence of adequate and sufficient credit will be verified and the call proposal will be sent to the Management. Subsequently, it will be published on the notice board of the University's Electronic Headquarters.
Applications must be submitted in the established model, which will be published with the call for applications. The deadline for submission of applications will be seven working days, starting from the day following the day of publication of the call on the notice board of the Electronic Headquarters of the UVa. Applications will be sent to the Research Support Service.
After the deadline for submission of applications, the provisional list of those admitted and excluded will be made public. The deadline to correct defects is five working days. Subsequently, the definitive list of those admitted and excluded will be published. All publications will be made on the UVa website.
Subsequently, the Service will send the applications to the Principal Investigator as President of the Selection Committee.
The selection will be carried out by the Selection Committee designated in the call, which must respect the principles of equality, merit and capacity, by means of the evaluation of the documents provided in the application.
The award proposal formulated by the Selection Committee will contain, broken down, the score obtained by all the applicants, indicating the proposed candidate, who will be the one with the highest score.
All the documentation generated in the selection process will be sent to the Research Support Service together with the basic occupational risk prevention document corresponding to that position. The award proposal will be published on the UVa website.
The Rector's Resolution that provides for the signing of the corresponding employment contract will be published in the same way.
As soon as possible, the interested party will be notified by the Personnel Service to sign the contract. As far as possible, the start date of the contract will be the date foreseen in the call for applications, never earlier.
The contract will end on the date indicated by the Principal Investigator in the contracting proposal. If the work or service has not been completed on that date and it is necessary to extend the contract, the Principal Investigator shall inform the Research Administrative Management Service of the need for an extension one month before the end of the contract. If this is not done within this period, it will be understood that the work or service has been completed, or that the extension of the contract is not necessary or legally admissible.
The communication may be made by e-mail: servicio.investigacion@uva.es
During the duration of the contract and provided that it fits in the project, the Principal Investigator may order additional payments conditioned to the fulfillment of the objectives established in the project. Their total amount may not exceed 30% of the amount foreseen for the entire duration of the contract. The Principal Investigator will propose these payments at least two months before the end of the research project that finances the contract and must be authorized by the Vice-Rector for Research and Science Policy. For this purpose, the Additional Payment for Fulfillment of Objectives form may be used.
Regarding the legality of their situation, they must contact the General Secretariat of Immigration and Emigration of the Ministry of Employment and Social Security.
In the case of degrees obtained in countries outside the EHEA, it is necessary to accredit their homologation or recognition by the competent body in this matter. In the case of degrees issued in a language other than Spanish or English, a translation must be provided.
In the case of research personnel whose contract corresponds to a category for which a doctorate degree is required, the homologation of the aforementioned degree will be sufficient. For this procedure you can obtain information at the Postgraduate and Doctoral Service of the UVa.
