PhD in Journalism cum laude and International Doctorate from the University of Valladolid (UVa). Accredited as Associate Professor by ANECA, I am currently a Margarita Salas postdoctoral researcher at UVa and a guest researcher at the Complutense University of Madrid in the group "History and Structure of Communication and Entertainment". I am also part of the research team of the project (R+D+i): "Politainment in the face of media fragmentation: disintermediation, engagement and polarization" (PolDespol) and of the Recognized Research Group "New Trends in Communication" (NUTECO). I am also a member of the IDP "Media literacy against disinformation" (ALFA-Uva) and "Knowing Africa" of the Observatory of African Studies of the University of Valladolid.
I have done research stays at the University of Wroclaw (2019) and at the University of Silesia (2021); I have taught twice as a guest lecturer at the Institute of Journalism and Media Communication (University of Silesia), thanks to an Erasmus+ grant funded by the European Union, and at the Institute of International Studies (University of Wroclaw) and, also, I have been part of the Organizing Committee of various international conferences held at the University of Valladolid, as well as I have coordinated collective works, seminars and conferences of various kinds.
My lines of research are framed in the analysis of infotainment in television programming, non-verbal communication applied to the political sphere and the history of television in Spain. I have several publications in prestigious journals, among them: Media and Communication, Profesional de la Información, Estudios sobre el Mensaje Periodístico, Catalan Journal of Communication & Cultural Studies, Oralia and index.comunicación. Also, my research findings have been presented at national and international conferences such as IAMCR, ALICE, ECREA, AE-IC or SEP, among others.
