IIT.1. Promoting the seal of excellence in research
- Development of the action plan for the HR in Excellence quality seal within the Human Resource Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) policy. Communication to the PDI of the actions carried out.
IIT.2. Retention and attraction of research talent
- Consolidation of UVa's talent attraction and retention programs.
- Institutional and administrative support for Juan de la Cierva, RyC, BG, ERC, MSCA-IF and other similar programs that may appear.
- Facilitate the process of incorporating new researchers.
- Dissemination of research activity to master's and undergraduate students to stimulate interest and vocation for research.
- In coordination with the Vice-Rector's Office for Faculty, promotion of the attraction of research talent through multi-year calls for grants under the terms established in Royal Decree 289/2021, of April 20, which regulates the direct granting of subsidies to public universities for the requalification of the Spanish university system (to be financed with European funds): "Margarita Salas" grants for the training of young doctors and "María Zambrano" grants for attracting international talent for researchers with postdoctoral experience.
IIT.3. Support to UVa research structures for their consolidation and growth.
- Visibility of Institutes, IRGs, Chairs and other research structures.
- Strengthening of research groups.
- Evaluation of the research activity of the IRGs to enhance their capabilities.
- Strengthen the UVa Institutes as interdisciplinary research structures.
- Support for the creation of new research institutes that can be regional and national references.
- Financial support for the recruitment of technical support personnel (PTA) for the central research support services and for the Institutes.
- Administrative support and advice on regional calls for proposals for Escalera de Excelencia.
IIT.4. Promoting the research career of the entire teaching and research staff, particularly young researchers.
- Development of a Pilot Research Career Plan.
- Establishment of a human resources policy in research in accordance with the European Charter and the Code of Conduct for researchers. Development of a Regulation of Hiring Standards for researchers.
- Development of a bilingual electronic (research) site.
- Mentoring of predoctoral and junior postdoctoral researchers (creation of a research support office).
- Consolidation of our own research programs.
- Consolidation of the offer of training activities for doctoral students and promotion of postdoctoral training.
- Preparation of a single set of regulations for doctoral studies and adaptation of the internal regulations of the EsDUVa.
- Promotion of the internationalization of doctoral studies (support for co-supervision, aid for internationalization, etc.) and support for doctoral program measures to attract doctoral students from other countries.
- In coordination with the Vice-Rector's Office for Teaching Staff, promotion of the new program of the Ministry of Universities for the "requalification of civil servant or contracted university teaching staff", by means of a call for grants to finance research stays of tenured, contracted and assistant professors in other universities and research centers.
- Program of extensions of pre- and post-doctoral contracts of the UVa's own calls, in those cases where there is legal protection, to try to alleviate the effects of the health pandemic caused by COVID-19.
- Enhancement and valorization of the research, innovation and transfer activity of all the PDI and research support staff of the UVa.
IIT.5. Support to researchers in attracting competitive and non-competitive funds.
- Administrative support and advice for Infrared, Ministry of Science Infrastructures, European, national and regional projects.
- Support for young researchers with potential to apply for European, national and regional projects. Creation of the figure of research mentors.
- Support to UVa research structures for the acquisition of human and material resources in regional, national, European and international calls.
- Promotion and support to UVa Research Institutes to attract European projects.
IIT.6. Improving the image of UVa in terms of research, innovation and transfer activities.
- Development of the new Research web site.
- Creation of a brand image for UVa research.
- Promote the use of the Scientific Production Portal (PPC).
- Visibility of research and knowledge transfer, and of the most relevant researchers.
- Consolidation of the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UVadivulga).
- Development of the first annual communication and dissemination plan of the UVa. Coordination of actions with the Vice-Rectorate for Communication and University Extension (Communication Office) and with the Vice-Rectorate for Teaching Innovation and Digital Transformation. Promoting collaboration between UVadivulga and FPCUVa in terms of dissemination.
- Analysis of Research, Innovation and Transfer indicators in the rankings and proposal of actions.
- Updating of research information in the Transparency Portal.
IIT.7. Promotion and stabilization of own research calls for proposals.
- Establishment of an annual calendar of own calls.
- Simplification of the evaluations of the own calls (through the data of the PPC and the Doctoral Activities Document). Greater administrative agility in the resolution of the calls.
- Launch of a new call for the evaluation of research activities of all the PDI of the UVa.
IIT.8. Strengthening the UVa ecosystem for knowledge transfer.
- Update of the strategic plan for knowledge transfer at UVa.
- Elaboration of own calls for the registration and protection of research results.
- To make UVa's research capabilities (research groups, laboratories, university institutes, university EBTs) and their results (patents, intellectual property, knowledge) visible to companies.
- Elaboration of a plan for the valorization of research results and the commercialization of the scientific-technical offer of the UVa.
IIT.9. Promotion of university-industry collaboration through the transfer of research results and innovation.
- Organization of conferences and joint events between companies and research groups to meet the needs of companies and disseminate the capabilities and knowledge generated at UVa.
- Promotion of research contracts with companies and administrations through joint calls for proposals with institutions (University-Company Challenge, Agreements with City Councils, Provincial Councils, etc.).
- Establishment and consolidation of existing relationships with companies to become strategic partners in knowledge transfer.
IIT.10. Promoting university entrepreneurship and business creation
- Updating of the regulations for the creation of technology-based companies.
- Elaboration of a protocol for the recognition of compatibility for the creation of EBTs by the PDI of the UVa.
- Personalized support to university community personnel in the creation of knowledge-based companies that exploit the results of their own research.
- Consolidation of the UVa Business Creation Unit as a body for the promotion of entrepreneurial culture in the university community.
IIT.11. Administrative and management support for research, innovation and knowledge transfer
- Strengthening and reinforcing the coordination of research, innovation and transfer support services of the UVa, the FPCUVa and FUNGE.
- Provide the PDI with information for better research management. Development of a research management guide.
- Support for actions to strengthen Open Access and Open Data access towards Open Science.
- Promotion of anti-plagiarism protocols and tools.
IIT.12. Promoting care for ethical aspects in all areas of research
- Agreement for the creation of the UVa Research Integrity Commission.
- Creation of the Biosafety Committee (CBS) and the Ethics Committee for Research on Human Subjects, their Data and Samples (CEISH).
- Promotion of the one-stop shop for research ethics and creation of a technical secretariat.
- Advice to researchers on data protection and research ethics.
